    Eligibility Criteria for SSC GD Constable Vacancy 2025

    To apply for the SSC GD Recruitment 2025, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria.


    Nationality/ Citizenship

    The candidate must be a citizen of India.


    Age Limit

    The candidate should be between 18 and 23 years of age as on 01.01.2025 i.e., candidates born not before 02.01.2002 and not later than 01.01.2007 are eligible to apply. However, relaxation in upper age limit for categories like SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS etc. as per Govt. of India guidelines is applicable.


    Permissible relaxation in upper age limit for different categories are as under:
    • Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe: 5 years
    • Other Backward Classes: 3 years
    • Ex-Serviceman: 3 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the date of reckoning.
    • Children and dependents of victims killed in the 1984 riots or communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat: 5 years, 8 years & 10 years (depending on the category of the candidates).

    Date of Birth (DoB) filled by the candidate in the Online Application Form and the same recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate will be accepted by the Commission for determining the age and no subsequent request for change will be considered or granted.

    Educational Qualification

    The candidates must have passed the Matriculation or 10th Class Examination from a recognized Board/ University as on or before the cut-off date i.e., 01.01.2025.


    Physical Standard

    The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) has established specific physical standards that applicants must meet to qualify for the Constable (GD), Rifleman (GD) and Sepoy positions. These standards are mandatory and are designed to maintain the health, fitness, and operational readiness of personnel.     Scheme of Examination for SSC GD Recruitment 2025

    The SSC GD recruitment exam will be conducted online as a Computer-Based Examination (CBE). The Examination will consist of one Objective Type Paper containing 80 questions carrying 2 marks each with the following composition:


    (A) General Intelligence and Reasoning: 20 Questions (40 Marks)
    (B) General Knowledge & General Awareness: 20 Questions (40 Marks)
    (C) Elementary Mathematics: 20 Questions (40 Marks)
    (D) English/Hindi: 20 Questions (40 Marks)

    • All the questions will be of Objective Multiple-Choice Type.
    • Time duration for completing the CBE is 60 minutes.
    • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
    • The CBE will be conducted in English, Hindi and 13 Regional languages viz. (i) Assamese, (ii) Bengali, (iii) Gujarati, (iv) Kannada, (v) Konkani, (vi) Malayalam, (vii) Manipuri, (viii) Marathi, (ix) Odia, (x) Punjabi, (xi) Tamil, (xii) Telugu and (xiii) Urdu.

    Syllabus for SSC GD Exam 2025

    The indicative syllabus for the SSC GD Examination will be as follows:


    (A) General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, etc.
    (B) General Knowledge and General Awareness: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
    (C) Elementary Mathematics: This Section will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and the relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
    (D) English/ Hindi: Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi and their basic comprehension will be tested.

    As per the SSC GD notification, the questions in the Computer-Based Examination will be of Matriculation level.


    Selection Process for SSC GD Recruitment 2025

    The selection process for the SSC GD recruitment involves multiple stages to ensure that candidates are physically fit, skilled, and competent to serve in the various Forces.

    1. Computer-Based Examination (CBE)
